Are you part of a civic club, a church group or a school class needing a program for an upcoming meeting? Dennis A. Benfield has worked in public relations for 41 years and has given hundreds and hundreds of speaker programs to a variety of groups all over western North Carolina.
Primarily, his interests and expertise are in the history of the first century of America, including the military history of the War of Northern Aggression, as well as contemporary politics. He’s been a college instructor in political science, news and feature writing, news editing, and public relations. A college instructor altogether for 20 years, he's also taught a teacher renewal course on "The American Civil War: A Southern Perspective."
For eight years, he taught college self-improvement subjects, like time management, memory enhancement and basic money management for young people. He currently serves as a Caldwell Soil & Water Conservation District supervisor, where he works on improved water quality at both the local and statewide levels.
